With the new Edition Route 66, MeisterSinger continues its successful series of special editions that pair a single-hand watch with an automotive icon and an elaborately designed collector's presentation box. Following the VW T1 restomod and the Jaguar E-Type Convertible, this time a red Ford Mustang Convertible takes center stage.
Limited to 100 pieces, this special edition comes complete with a Ford Mustang Convertible model car, a Route 66 presentation box, and an extraordinary dial inspired by the wheel design of the American icon.
A century ago, in 1926, Route 66 was officially opened. Stretching nearly 2,500 miles from Chicago to the American West Coast, it quickly became one of the world's most legendary highways. It served as a lifeline for travellers, vacationers, and adventurers alike, and later became the backdrop for countless films, books, and songs. To this day, Route 66 remains a symbol of freedom, new beginnings, and the simple joy of being on the road.
The Ford Mustang has become an enduring symbol of American driving culture and an embodiment of pleasure, freedom, and mobility. It is therefore the perfect companion for Route 66, a road that for a century has carried people not merely from one destination to another. Still, it has helped create lasting memories along the way. Together with the MeisterSinger single-hand watch, it evokes the image of a journey taken without haste: the passing scenery beneath an open sky, endless horizons, the warmth of the evening air, an unplanned stop along the roadside, and the realisation that happiness and contentment are found in the present moment.
While the previous two automotive editions were based on the 36 mm Neo, the Edition Route 66 follows a different path. For the first time, MeisterSinger's iconic №03 serves as the foundation. Its two-layer construction takes inspiration from the distinctive wheels of the Ford Mustang. The lower matte-black level is engraved with fine concentric circles, while a second layer above features six striking silver-white spokes that create remarkable depth and dimensionality. The MeisterSinger logo is applied on an oval plaque, while the historic Route 66 emblem occupies a place in the lower section of the dial. The reverse side also embraces the theme of the edition: the sapphire crystal caseback features a semi-transparent print of the historic Route 66 shield and bears the individual engraving of the consecutive edition number.
