INTRODUCING THE S.A.R. MISSION-TIMER “160 YEARS DGZRS” LIMITED EDITION

150 years of donation boats, 160 years of sea rescuers on the North and Baltic Seas: this year, the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Rettung Schiffbrüchiger, DGzRS) is celebrating an anniversary and a special milestone birthday.

With the S.A.R. Mission-Timer “160 Years DGzRS”, Mühle Glashütte are contributing an exclusive timepiece. The limited edition is presented on the occasion of the Day of the Sea Rescuers, which took place on July 27. And so, of course, every watch also comes with a donation of 100 euros for the sea rescuers.

The dial is finished in titanium grey. In addition to the functional minute scale, it features a fine line structure. This refers to the location of the German Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre at the DGzRS headquarters in Bremen. It reflects the isolines of the sea topography, which shows the North Sea in the Weser estuary near Bremerhaven.

But even at second glance, the dial impresses with a typical S.A.R. highlight: the colour of the sea rescuers is reflected in the white indices during the day. While these glow in navy blue in the dark, they reveal their mysterious shade of red under UV light to match the colour of the DGzRS.

On the back of the watch, the specially engraved titanium case back bears witness to the solidarity with the DGzRS. The engraving shows a donation boat, which has been the unmistakable symbol of the sea rescuers on the North Sea and Baltic Sea for 150 years.

It is accompanied by the anniversary lettering: "150 years of the donation boats. 160 years of DGzRS - The Sea Rescuers". Finally, the case back bears the individual limited edition number that makes each watch unique.
