THE NEW SPORTIVO BIG DATE
Minimalist dial. Striking date display. High-contrast hands and indices. The “Big Date” model from the “Sportivo” sports watch family is now available for particularly dynamic sports. The time and date are perfectly legible even with a quick glance.
The department meeting is on the 2nd, right? Do I still have half an hour before my next appointment? Whether you're paddling, going for a morning bike ride, or doing any other fun sporting activity, a quick glance at the watch on your wrist is often enough to find out the exact time or the current date. The new sports watch from Mühle-Glashütte is perfectly designed for this purpose. Not only does it feature a crystal-clear dial with a big date display, but it also has the same robust, comfortable case as the entire “Sportivo” family of sports watches.
What makes the new Mühle sports watch so special is the “MU9424-GD” module movement, introduced in 2024, which ensures precise time and an easy-to-read big date display. Thanks to the in-house designed module, the big date display can be flexibly positioned on the dial side. This allows it to be placed at 6 o’clock, balancing the Mühle logo and the hour numeral “12”—giving the dial its remarkable balance. The “12” hour numeral and distinctive hour indices have fine, polished nickel-plated frames, enabling them to be generously coated with a white luminous material. The same applies to the hour and minute hands. This interplay provides excellent contrast to the black dial during the day and an intense afterglow at night, guaranteeing outstanding readability under any conditions.
Mühle, an independent, Glashütte-based family business, prioritises the legibility of its timepieces. Every one of its watches allows you to tell the time at a glance. Since 1996, legibility has been one of the three underlying design principles for all new Mühle watch designs. Even the sporty, stylish case has a part to play. It features a 2.2-millimeter double anti-reflective sapphire crystal that always ensures an unobstructed view of the dial. The crystal is framed by a bidirectional rotating bezel with a scratch-resistant ceramic inlay. Added to this are the screw-down crown and water resistance up to 30 bar. These features reflect the second development principle: the high reliability and robustness of a Mühle watch.
The third principle is precision. The movement plays a key role here. This is why the “MU9424-GD” modular movement from Mühle-Glashütte is equipped with an especially shock-proof, finely adjustable woodpecker neck regulation. After the movement parts are carefully finished and assembled, the movement is tested in six positions and is set so that its rate is between 0 and +8 seconds per day. This adjustment specification is based on the chronometer standard. First and foremost, however, its key purpose is to ensure that no wearer of a Mühle watch is late because of their watch.
From the movement to the dial to the case: the new Sportivo Big Date also scores points with its first-class functionality and its special sporty chic. This makes it not only a very interesting representative of the Mühle-Glashütte sports watch family in terms of horology, but also the perfect everyday watch that effortlessly complements any occasion, whether a business meeting, an elegant dinner, or a sporty bike ride.
