POWERFUL NEW WATCHES THAT DON’T HAVE TO BE WORN ONLY IN WATER:AQUARIS DIVER, AQUARIS RED, AQUARIS BLUE
Junghans dives into the depths of the oceans and brings four newcomers back to dry land. The Aquaris Red and Aquaris Blue are powerful, robust sports watches that can handle any challenge on land or in water. The Aquaris Diver in green and orange, entirely dedicated to diving, looks even sportier.
Each and every Aquaris model has depth. This starts with the striking, cushion-shaped stainless-steel case, whose diameter of 46.9mm emphasises the robustness of the watch, which is water-resistant to 50 bar and corresponds to the pressure at a depth of 500 meters, more than sufficient for a watch designed for scuba diving. Another great characteristic is the centrally positioned flank protection, which safeguards the two screw-down crowns from damage. The crown at the 4 o‘clock position is responsible for winding the movement and setting the time, while the crown at the 2 o‘clock position controls the inner rotating ring under the crystal. As befits a diving watch, the inner rotating ring can only be turned counterclockwise.
The Aquaris Diver is a modern tool watch with a high-contrast look. The dial comes in a matt dark gray, while the striking hands and applied indices are generously coated with white X1 Grade Green luminous material. Once charged with natural or artificial light, this material glows for a long time in an intense green tone, ensuring optimum readability even in difficult lighting conditions – such as those often encountered underwater. Since this is a genuine diving watch, the first 15 minutes are prominently featured on the rotating bezel in green or orange, matching the edging around the arrowhead of the minute hand. This was designed in a particularly striking manner because the minute is the most important unit of time for scuba divers. The hour and second hands are visually subdued as they are less important underwater. The steel case back features a three-dimensional relief of a school of fish.
The Aquaris Diver comes on a choice of a three-link stainless-steel bracelet or a synthetic rubber strap. The steel bracelet has a folding clasp with two extension options. One is the standard folding extension found on divers’ watches, which provides an additional 26 mm of length, and the other is Junghans‘ own click adjustment with a 22 mm extension option, which can also be operated when the clasp is closed. A click-ball lock prevents the clasp from opening accidentally, while the Quick Release function makes it easy to change the strap.
Each watch also comes with a robust synthetic rubber strap in orange or black and includes a diver extension.
The Aquaris Red and Aquaris Blue models each feature a colour-coordinated sunburst dial and rotating inner ring. Strong, vibrant colours give both watches a confident and contemporary look. Their bold baton hands are generously coated with luminous material, ensuring excellent readability, while the linear hand design underscores the timepiece’s modern sports watch character. The steel case back, engraved with a maritime motif, also contributes to this look.
Technically, the Aquaris Red and Aquaris Blue are identical to the Aquaris Diver. However, there are slight differences in the strap and bracelet options. Both come with the Aquaris Diver’s stainless steel bracelet, and each watch is also delivered with a synthetic rubber strap. The Aquaris Red comes with a black strap, while the Aquaris Blue comes with a blue strap that matches the dial, and both straps have a comfortable Junghans folding clasp made of stainless steel.
Fans of strikingly modern sports watches will tend to opt for the Aquaris Red or Aquaris Blue, while divers and tool watch fans will find the Aquaris Diver to be the perfect choice. Either way, they‘ll be sporting a modern, functional sports watch wherever they go – such as while enjoying water sports, working at the office, or just hanging out at the bar.
